Panorama Hills was built on a rock quarry — and the quarry’s stones built Calgary’s historic City Hall.
The McDougall Cairn still stands in Panorama Hills today. Established in 1994, home to 25,535 neighbours across 6.3 square kilometres — one of Calgary’s largest communities, built on land that was once a working rock quarry. The stones from that quarry went into Calgary’s historic City Hall, so a piece of Panorama Hills has been standing downtown for over a century.
